Step 01
Open a terminal.
After downloading the APK, open a terminal on macOS, Linux or Windows PowerShell. The command below prints the SHA-256 fingerprint of the file. Compare it character-for-character with the operator's published fingerprint.
- macOS / Linux: shasum -a 256 path/to/file.apk
- Windows PowerShell: Get-FileHash path o ile.apk -Algorithm SHA256
- Compare: the printed hash must match exactly.
Install
How to install.
Standard flow
After enabling "Install unknown apps" for the browser you downloaded from, tap the APK in your downloads. Tap "Install" on the prompt. After install, turn the setting back off.
Settings menu
On Android 7 and earlier, the "Install unknown apps" setting is in Settings → Security → Unknown sources. The same toggle; same warning.
AppGallery
Some Huawei devices default to AppGallery and may block APK installs. Disable Pure Mode in Settings → Battery → App launch to allow the install.
Common causes
"Install blocked": the unknown-sources toggle is off. "App not installed": the APK is for a different device architecture. Re-download the correct variant.
